Read before pitching
Feel free to email me at themomslant AT gmail DOT com (or, better yet, email me at the Parent Bloggers Network where I’m co-founder and principal) regarding product reviews, but please be aware of these guidelines:
1. Please address me by my name, which is Julie.
2. Please do not send press releases. This site reflects my interests and content, not yours.
3. Please do not invite me to events outside the Denver metro area unless you plan to pay for my transportation, lodging, and alcohol consumption.
4. Please do not request link exchanges. If I like you, I’ll link you. Someday.
5. Please do not ask me to guest post on your site, personal friends excepted. If you are emailing me for the first time ever, you are not a personal friend.
6. Please do not send me information about a product if you are not willing and able to offer samples. I don’t write about products I haven’t actually used myself.
7. Please don’t ask me to return samples. Have you tried taking three kids to the post office?
8. Please don’t leave comments that include pitches or links to your retail site. No matter how personal the comment appears, I will consider it spam and delete it.
9. If we’re already working together at PBN or Cool Mom Picks, please don’t pitch me again at mothergoosemouse. It makes you look as if you aren’t paying attention, and I don’t have the time or patience for that.
10. If you really want to do your homework before you pitch me (or any other blogger), please read this post by my friend Susan Getgood. Better yet, share it with everyone you know who does blogger outreach.
